reverse. \u00a0People are used to experiencing time from beginning to end, so it was hard to piece together what was happening. \u00a0It wasn\u2019t until I found a version that played it in order that I realized what was going on. \u00a0Based on my understanding, the husband is having an affair with another woman. \u00a0This woman gets jealous, locks the wife in the closet and waits for the husband gets home so that she can kill him. \u00a0I don\u2019t think she was intending to kill the wife though. \u00a0If she wanted to kill her she had the perfect opportunity to. \u00a0In the end she gets hit with a breezeblock and falls into the bathtub, where she is held down by \u201csoggy clothes and breezeblocks\u201d. \u00a0She\u2019s also dead which probably prevents her from leaving.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gcornish.digitalscholar.rochester.edu\/MHS123_Fall2017\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Screen-Shot-2017-11-28-at-1.50.42-AM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I agree that the Husband in this video turned out to be the good guy and that it\u2019s meant to make us question the perspective, but I don\u2019t think that men always seem like the bad guy. \u00a0\u00a0I don\u2019t think proving that men aren\u2019t always bad was the point of this music video, especially since it was the woman who was the first one to attack.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The lines,<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/genius.com\/Alt-j-breezeblocks-lyrics#note-1161813\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Do you know where the wild things go?<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/genius.com\/Alt-j-breezeblocks-lyrics#note-1161813\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They go along to take your honey (la la la la)<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/genius.com\/Alt-j-breezeblocks-lyrics#note-1205893\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Break down, now weep, build up breakfast<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/genius.com\/Alt-j-breezeblocks-lyrics#note-1205893\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now let\u2019s eat, my love, my love, love, love (La la la la)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Seem to be from the woman\u2019s perspective. \u00a0She\u2019s going to to take his honey (his wife). \u00a0This probably means that if he chooses his wife over her, she\u2019ll kill his wife.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The lyrics, \u201cPlease don\u2019t go, I\u2019ll eat you whole, I love you so\u201d is from the book \u201cWhere the Wild Things are\u201d. \u00a0The lines in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfasu.edu\/echl\/documents\/Where_The_Wild_Things_Are.pdf\">the book<\/a> are<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">But the wild things cried, \u201cOh please don\u2019t go we\u2019ll<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;font-size: 1rem\">eat you up-we love you so!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And Max said, \u201cNo!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The wild things roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">but Max stepped into his private boat and waved good-bye.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I think this children\u2019s book was a prominent source of inspiration for this song. \u00a0In the book, the main character, Max, sees the creatures and called them \u201cwild things\u201d and when they see him they think he is the \u201cwild thing\u201d. \u00a0So, in the music video, the woman sees the husband and his wife and think that they are \u201cwild\u201d and the couple think the woman is \u201cwild\u201d. \u00a0I think that the woman is the one who is most like the wild things. \u00a0When the husband denies her love she goes insane and tries to kills him. \u00a0In the video she is shown throwing glass bottled and practically clawing the guy. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Many of the lyrics also allude to medical terms. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Citrezene your fever\u2019s gripped me again\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cShe bruises coughs she splutters pistol shots<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But hold her down with soggy clothes and breezeblocks<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She\u2019s morphine queen of my vaccine my love my love love love, la la la la\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a id=\"fprsl\" class=\"spell\" href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/drugs\/2\/drug-12065\/cetirizine-oral\/details#overdose\">Cetirizine<\/a>\u00a0is a type of allergy medicine. \u00a0This medicine is also something that can be overdosed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This song has many implications of death and I think referring to cetirizine is a reference to suicide. \u00a0At the end, after he\u2019s killed the woman, he stays in the bathroom instead of going to his wife. \u00a0The bathroom is usually a place where people keep pharmaceutical drugs, so by showing him staying in the bathroom could imply that he\u2019s considering suicide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The line about morphine really caught my attention. \u00a0Since<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/drugs\/2\/drug-327-819\/morphine-oral\/morphine-oral\/details#overdose\"> morphine<\/a> is an opiate, it manipulates the brain to receive less pain signals. \u00a0It can also increase the release of dopamine and endorphins which can make a person feel euphoric. \u00a0Morphine is also a drug that can be overdosed. \u00a0When the lines says that she is the \u201cqueen of my vaccine\u201d, it\u2019s difficult to pinpoint exactly what that means. \u00a0\u00a0I interpret it to mean that the woman dominates his wife. \u00a0\u00a0His wife is the antidote to him and the woman is like a drug he keeps overdosing on. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gcornish.digitalscholar.rochester.edu\/MHS123_Fall2017\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Screen-Shot-2017-11-28-at-1.53.05-AM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-664 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/gcornish.digitalscholar.rochester.edu\/MHS123_Fall2017\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Screen-Shot-2017-11-28-at-1.53.05-AM.png\" alt=\"\" (max-width: 767px) 82vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I thought this comment was really interesting. \u00a0It could be true that the woman was a lover that the husband
